Which gear is used for low speed?

In general, low speeds in a vehicle are achieved by using lower gears. The specific gear used for low speeds varies depending on whether the vehicle has a manual transmission or an automatic transmission.

First Gear (1st): This is the lowest gear and is typically used for low-speed driving, such as when starting from a complete stop or driving at very low speeds, such as in heavy traffic or on steep inclines.

Just like in manual transmissions, first gear is used for low-speed driving in automatic vehicles. The transmission will automatically shift up through the gears as the vehicle accelerates.

In addition to first gear, some vehicles with automatic transmissions also have a "Low" or "L" gear setting. This setting restricts the transmission from shifting into higher gears, keeping the vehicle in lower gears for better control and performance in situations such as driving down steep hills or towing heavy loads.

Overall, whether you're driving a vehicle with a manual or automatic transmission, the lowest gear (usually first gear) is utilized for low-speed driving to provide the necessary power and torque for starting and maneuvering at slow speeds.
